EVENTS ACROSS NATIONAL PARALYMPIC COMMITTEE OF RWANDA

• 2000: Participation in Sydney Paralympic Games with 1 athlete in swimming (male)
• 2003: Participation in All African Games in Nigeria with 3 athletes ( male).
• 2004: Participation in World Cup of volley ball for people with disabilities in Germany (Mettmann) where one of our players won the cup of the best blocker.
• 2004: Participation in Athens Paralympic Games with 2 athletes (female and male) where for the first time in the history of Rwanda, we won a bronze medal
• June 2005: Participation in 22nd European Championship of sit ball in Germany (Emmelshausen).
• October 2005: Participation in World Cup of Volleyball for people with a disability (standing volley ball) in Canada
• June 2006: Rwanda represented the Afro-Arab zone in Triple Championship in The Netherlands (Roermond) in standing volleyball for people with disabilities.
• September 2006: in collaboration with CBM (Christopher Blind Mission ) through CBR(Community Based Rehabilitation) Inkurunziza, we officially launched the following games: Goal Ball, Wheel Chair Rugby and Tricycle Racing at AMAHORO Stadium
• November 2006: we organized the first Sit ball World Cup in which Rwanda took the bronze medal.
• From 3rd April to 20th May 2007: national championship in standing volley ball and sit ball (men)
• From 21st to 23rd May 2007: In collaboration with RBC Inkurunziza we organized a regional competition in Goal Ball, Wheelchair Rugby and Tricycle racing.
• From July to October 2007 we participated in the 100 years of Kigali City Anniversary Competitions with Sit ball (Women), Goal Ball, Wheelchair Rugby and Volley ball.
• From 11th to 23rd July 2007 we participated in the 9th edition of All African Games in Algiers with Athletics and Goal Ball.
• December, 2nd 2007, we organized the Cronin Cup in commemoration of International Day of People with Disabilities.
• December 8 , 2007 Participation in Rendezvous National with 7 athletes.
• From 1st to 18th September,2008 : participation in 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games
• From 6 - 10 November, 2008: we organized the second World Cup of Sit ball in which the Rwanda National Team took a bronze medal.
• On December 3, 2008: we organized for the first time a Paralympic Day (sponsored by Laureus Sport For Good Foundation)

Seminars and meetings

• November 2001: a delegation from Rwanda participated in a seminar for sport leaders held in Paris
• January 2004: two experts from Rheinland-Pfalz, Mr. Joseph Vallendar and Mr. Christoph Sagner conducted a one-week seminar for 12 trainers and 8 leaders of sports for people with disabilities in Rwanda.
• May 2005: four Rwandans participated in a seminar for coaches of Sitting volley ball, Goal ball and Athletics held in Nairobi - Kenya
• November 2005: Mr. BIZIMANA Dominique participated in the IPC General Assembly held in Beijing- China
• December 2005: Mr. BIZIMANA Dominique (President) and Mr. MAPENZI Joseph (Secretary General) participated in a seminar for sport leaders coming from francophone countries held in Paris
• In 2006, we organized a training of wheelchair basketball for coaches, led by Maureen Dowd, an expert from Right to Play
• In 2006, we organized a training of wheelchair rugby for coaches, conducted by Mr. Mc Allister from CBM (Christopher Blind Mission ).
• September 2007: Mr. BIZIMANA Dominique participated in a seminar for Chef de mission for the Beijing Paralympic Games 2008 .
• December 2007: Mr. BIZIMANA Dominique and NZEYIMANA Celestin participated in a seminar for sport leaders coming from francophone countries held in Paris- France.
• June 2008: Mr. NZEYIMANA Celestin participated in a seminar for Chef de mission for Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games held in South Africa .
• From 11th to 16th November, 2008: we organized a seminar for coaches and referees in Great Lakes countries (sponsored by Voluntary Service Overseas and WOVD) World Organization Volleyball for people with a Disability.
