Rwanda Sitting Volleyball Team in 2010 Worlds
From 8th to 18th July, 2010 Rwanda Sitting Volleyball Team is in USA/Oklahoma for World Championship.
The only one sub-saharian country managed to arrive in Oklahoma after its qualification in 2009.
Rwanda, is participating in Worlds for the first time in histry as well as Canada, Morocco, India, and Libya.
Sitting Volleyball has been introduced in Rwanda since 2008 by WOVD instructor Jouke de Haan and WOVD President Pierre Van Meenen.
Rwanda is looking for qualification to 2012 London Paralympic Games through 2010 Worlds and 2011 Sub-saharian Zonal Championship.
Players are committed and supported by the country through Rwanda National Paralympic Committee in its programme "TOWARDS LONDON 2012"
On 9th and 10th July, 2010 Rwanda played friendly matches with experienced countries and learned more from this.

10th July, 2010 from 6pm to 10pm, it was the Opening Ceremonies for 2010 Worlds held in Hamilton Field House/University of Central Oklahoma. Guest of Honor was the Major of Oklahoma City and enterterned by Miss USA 2009 with a USA traditional dancer group
The 11th July, 2010 the competition started.
Rwanda lost the first match with Croitia (1-3) /19-25, 5-25, 25-23, 20-25.
Croitia is experianced team, is number 4 in Europe. They are supprised on how Team Rwanda can get a set!! which was not possible for new teams.
"We are very happy for today's match, Croitia is strong team and experianced team also. To have a set from them makes me happy" said Dominique BIZIMANA Team Captain.
"Ofcourse we didn't win but it's not bad too, there still some mistakes to correct on side of players and I hope that next matches they will improve" by Peter KARREMAN Head Coach
Rwanda will play with Hungary, Brasil, Egypt and South Korea in preliminaries for group C.
