The National Minimum Qualification Standard in Powerlifting has been achieved at Rubavu District


On Friday, 23rd April, 2010 in Stip Hotel at Rubavu District held a national competition of Powerlifting in order to update the results of powerlifters who will participate in African Championship of Powerlifting which will be hosted By Libya this June from 8th to 12th.
5 individual powerlifters competed in their weight category and the results are as follow:

2 powerlifters have been selected for participating in coming competitions those powerlifters are HAKIZIMANA Théogene from Kivu Team and KAREMERA Sylvestre from Rwamagana Powerlifting Team. They will go to Libya for confirming their qualification and register their names on International powerlifters list and IPC Sport Management Database System.
The same competition will be organised every 3 months and the main objective is to encrease the number of powerlmifters and to qualify more powerlifters for national level before they enter to the International competitions for qualification in 2011 All Africa Games and 2012 LONDON PARALYMPIC GAMES.
