NPC Rwanda cerebrated 1 year to go to London 2012![]() Dominique BIZIMANA leading the press conference Saturday the 1st October, 2011 the National Paralympic Committee supported by British Counsil and UK High Commission in Rwanda organised a sport events and Press conferance at Amahoro National Stadium of Remera. Young boys and girls from primary and secondary schools competed in Athletics. "By creating this event we hope to strengthen the idea of Global Citizenship with our teachers and students by encouraging further communication between the Rwanda, Kenya and UK partnership on a specific them: The Olympics and Paralympics" by Nyree Pinder Projects and Business Manager in British Counsil. After the Athletics competition, NPC Rwanda organized a press conference in MIJESPOC conference room so that Rwandan journalists get more information on preparations to London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. They got opportunity to ask His Excellency Ben Llewelyn-Jones the High Commissioner of British Embassy in Rwanda and British Counsil representative Mr. Michael Bibby how London will help and facilitate Rwandese specialy journalists to access London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. "The British High commission is ready to work closer with NPC Rwanda to make sure that athletes and officials who will participate in Games don't loose any opportunity." said by British High Commissioner ![]() Sitting Volleyball teams in demonstration match NPC Rwanda presented how far is, in its program "towards Lonodon 2012". NPC Rwanda hopes to have more than 15 athletes in London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Up to now, only 1 athlete is qualified and 12 athletes will qualify during Sub-Saharan Sitting Volleyball Competition which will be organised in Kigali - Rwanda from 22nd - 27th November, 2011 at Amahoro Stadium (Petit Stade). The other 5 athletes will participate in African Championship in Tunisia next year and one will participate in Powerlifting competition in Arabic United Emirates in December, 2011.
