Rwanda Sitting Volleyball team qualified for London 2012 Paralympic Games

From 24-27th November 2011, NPC Rwanda organised a unique Sitting Volleyball competition for Sub-Saharan countries. Only the winning team would qualify to compete at the London 2012 Paralympic Games. The Minister of sport hosted the event which had the support of many national and international sponsors

This was the first time such competition has been organised in this zone which has been recognised as a significant achievement by World Organisation Volleyball for Disabled (WOVD). Participating countries were: Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda the host country. All 5 countries played each other in the preliminary phase.
